Terms of Service
Last updated: January 2025
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Fact AI Checker website and services at factaichecker.com (“Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you agree to these Terms on behalf of that organization.
2. Description of Service
Fact AI Checker is an AI-powered tool that analyzes submitted text claims and returns an assessment of their factual accuracy based on available documentary evidence. The Service is provided for informational and research assistance purposes only.
The Service does not provide legal advice, medical advice, financial advice, or any other form of professional advice. Results should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any decision with significant consequences.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:
- Submit content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or violates the rights of others
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the Service
- Use automated tools to submit large volumes of requests in a manner that disrupts the Service
- Attempt to circumvent any technical measures we use to operate the Service
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose that involves reselling our outputs without permission
- Submit personal identifying information of third parties without their consent
4. No Guarantee of Accuracy
The Service uses AI and automated systems to assess claims. Results are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or current. The credibility scores and verdicts generated by the Service represent an automated assessment based on available documentary evidence at the time of the query and should be treated as one input in your own evaluation process — not as a definitive statement of fact.
We make no warranty that the Service will correctly identify misinformation in every case, or that it will not produce incorrect verdicts on accurate claims. Users are responsible for exercising their own judgment.
5. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, interface, and underlying methodology, is the property of Fact AI Checker and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute the Service or its outputs for commercial purposes without our written permission.
You retain ownership of any text you submit to the Service. By submitting text, you grant us a limited license to process it for the purpose of generating your requested fact-check result.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Fact AI Checker and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including damages resulting from reliance on information provided by the Service.
8. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including violations of these Terms, without prior notice. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
